On 30 April 2025, an online meeting was held between the State Industrial-Export Bank of Tajikistan (Sanoatsodirotbank), led by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Mr. Shukhrat Faridun Mukhiddinzoda, and Bangkok Bank, represented by Senior Executive Vice President and Co-Head of the International Banking Group Mr. Chaiyarit Anuchitworawong. Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Thailand, with residence in Kuala Lumpur, also took part in the discussion.
The two sides conducted a substantive and constructive exchange of views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the financial and banking sector. Among the priority topics was the establishment of correspondent banking relationships, which will simplify and accelerate transaction settlement between businesses in both countries. Special emphasis was placed on developing payment infrastructure, given the growing interest of Tajik enterprises in Southeast Asian markets.
The participants also discussed joint training programmes, internships, and experience-sharing initiatives for banking professionals. Furthermore, they explored opportunities for co-financing export-oriented and investment projects, including support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
All participants expressed their mutual readiness to continue consultations in a working format and to strengthen professional ties in order to expand banking cooperation and support economic initiatives between Tajikistan and Thailand.
