On 27–28 April 2025, H.E. Ms. Mavsuma Muini, Deputy Speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan, paid a working visit to Malaysia to participate in the 15th General Assembly of the Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (AFPPD) and the associated Study Visit on Ageing.

During the Assembly, H.E. Ms. Muini was elected Chairwoman of the AFPPD Standing Committee on Climate Change, reflecting Tajikistan’s active engagement and leadership on environmental and sustainability issues in the Asia-Pacific region.

On 28 April 2025, in the framework of her visit, H.E. Ms. Muini held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed, Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Negara (Senate of Malaysia). The parties exchanged views on the current state of inter-parliamentary relations and discussed prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas of mutual interest such as social policy, climate action, and legislative experience-sharing.
