
On May 7, 2025 Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Malaysia Mr. Ardasher Qodiri participated in the 7th Annual General Assembly of the Malaysian Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies (MCMTC). The event brought together leading figures from Malaysia’s business community, government institutions, international organizations, and the diplomatic corps.
In his address, Ambassador Qodiri presented a video introducing Tajikistan’s investment and economic landscape, followed by a comprehensive presentation highlighting the growing prospects for interregional cooperation between Central Asia and Southeast Asia and outlining the priority areas for advancing bilateral economic relations between Tajikistan and Malaysia.
He emphasized Tajikistan’s dynamic economic development, the steady growth of GDP, and continuous efforts to improve the investment environment. The Ambassador noted the country’s potential in key sectors including hydropower, agriculture, aluminium production, light industry, and ICT. He also underlined Tajikistan’s strategic location as a land bridge connecting China, Russia, Iran, South Asia and Europe, offering unique logistical advantages.
Special attention was given to the importance of establishing direct partnerships with Malaysia’s mid-tier companies in areas such as halal industry development, Islamic finance, food processing, and sustainable export cooperation.
Following the presentation, an engaging Q&A session took place. Malaysian business representatives expressed strong interest in practical collaboration and raised questions concerning visa facilitation, taxation policies, and investment procedures. Ambassador Qodiri provided detailed responses and reaffirmed the Embassy’s readiness to support direct business engagement and to coordinate future visits of Malaysian delegations to Tajikistan.
