Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Central Asian States

On September 13, 2023, the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Central Asian States was held in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

The heads of foreign affairs agencies discussed and agreed on the draft Agenda of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the list of its final documents.

In his speech, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan emphasized the readiness of the countries of the region for open and broad interaction in the interests of ensuring peace, stability and security in Central Asia. It was noted with satisfaction that the states of the region invariably proceed from a common desire to further expand and strengthen relations in all areas, promote joint initiatives in solving current problems, and also make efforts to counter challenges and threats.

S. Muhriddin expressed gratitude to the Central Asian states for the support provided to Tajikistan during the period of our country’s chairmanship in the Consultative Meetings mechanism in 2022-2023, including the holding of 16 side events within the framework of the summit in Dushanbe.

The ministers were unanimous in the opinion that constant and interested interaction on a wide range of current issues is the key to achieving long-term goals of joint development of the fraternal countries of Central Asia.
