The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Malaysia has produced a documentary film entitled “Ferdowsi & Shahnameh”, aimed at introducing the life, legacy, and literary achievements of the great Persian-Tajik poet Hakim Abulqasim Ferdowsi, as well as his immortal masterpiece, the Shahnameh (The Book of Kings), to the peoples of Southeast Asia. The production of this documentary forms part of the commemorative activities marking the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and is intended to promote the rich historical, cultural, and literary heritage of the Tajik people to international audiences.
The documentary highlights Ferdowsi’s outstanding contribution to world civilization and literature, emphasizing his pivotal role in preserving the historical memory, cultural identity, and spiritual values of Persian-speaking peoples through the creation of the Shahnameh. Regarded as one of the greatest epic works in human history, the Shahnameh is a monumental literary achievement that has inspired generations of readers, scholars, writers, and statesmen for more than a millennium. Through its compelling narratives, enduring characters, and timeless messages, the work continues to serve as a bridge between the past and the present, preserving the cultural and intellectual heritage of a great civilization.

The documentary has been produced in English and is accompanied by Malay-language subtitles. This initiative is intended to make the rich literary and cultural heritage embodied in the Shahnameh accessible to a broad audience throughout Southeast Asia. The use of English enables the film to reach viewers from diverse linguistic backgrounds, while the Malay subtitles further enhance accessibility for audiences in Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Singapore, and other regions where Malay and closely related languages are widely understood.
The film explores the life and works of Hakim Abulqasim Ferdowsi, his intellectual journey, and the historical circumstances that gave rise to the creation of the Shahnameh. Particular attention is devoted to the extraordinary dedication and perseverance required to complete this monumental work, a task that occupied the poet for several decades. Сафорати Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон дар Малайзия филми мустанадеро таҳти унвони «Фирдавсӣ ва Шоҳнома» таҳия намудааст, ки ҳадафи он муаррифии ҳаёт, мерос ва дастовардҳои адабии шоири бузурги форсу тоҷик Ҳаким Абулқосим Фирдавсӣ, инчунин шоҳасари ҷовидонаи ӯ — «Шоҳнома» ба мардумони Осиёи Ҷанубу Шарқӣ мебошад. Таҳияи ин филми мустанад бахше аз чорабиниҳои ҷашнӣ ба муносибати 35-солагии Истиқлоли давлатии Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон буда, ба муаррифии мероси ғании таърихӣ, фарҳангӣ ва адабии халқи тоҷик дар арсаи байналмилалӣ равона гардидааст.
Филми мустанад саҳми беназири Фирдавсиро дар тамаддун ва адабиёти ҷаҳон инъикос намуда, нақши калидии ӯро дар ҳифзи хотираи таърихӣ, ҳувияти фарҳангӣ ва арзишҳои маънавии мардумони форсизабон тавассути офариниши «Шоҳнома» бозгӯ менамояд. «Шоҳнома», ки яке аз бузургтарин ҳамосаҳои таърихи башарият маҳсуб меёбад, дастоварди азими адабӣ буда, дар тӯли зиёда аз ҳазор сол илҳомбахши наслҳои зиёди хонандагон, донишмандон, адибон ва ходимони давлатӣ гардидааст. «Шоҳнома» ҳамчун ҷузъи ҷудонашавандаи мероси фарҳангии халқи тоҷик дар анъанаҳои адабӣ, зеҳнӣ ва маънавии миллати тоҷик ҷойгоҳи хосса дорад. Дар тӯли асрҳо ин асар дар ташаккули худшиносии таърихӣ, арзишҳои ахлоқӣ ва ҳувияти фарҳангии мардумони форсизабон нақши муҳим бозидааст. Ҳамзамон, «Шоҳнома» аз доираи марзҳои ҷуғрофӣ ва забонӣ фаротар рафта, ҳамчун шоҳкории адабиёти ҷаҳон ва ганҷинаи пойдори мероси фарҳангии башарият эътирофи ҷаҳонӣ пайдо намудааст.
