On 24 June 2026, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Malaysia, H.E. Ardasher S. Qodiri, met with Datuk Husam Musa, former Senator of the Dewan Negara of Malaysia.
During the meeting, Datuk Husam Musa shared his experiences from his visit to Tajikistan and expressed his profound admiration for the country, its people, and its rich historical and cultural heritage.
Datuk Husam Musa informed the Ambassador that he had recently authored a book entitled “Pemimpin Dipinggir Sejarah” (Leaders on the Fringes of History), which chronicles his travels and reflections across various countries of the Muslim world and highlights prominent historical figures whose contributions have often been overlooked. He emphasized that a substantial portion of the book is devoted to Tajikistan, including its rich history, culture, spiritual heritage, and the enduring contributions of the Tajik people to world civilization.
“Leaders on the Fringes of History” is believed to be the first book in the Malay language describing contemporary Tajikistan and its historical legacy, thereby contributing to greater awareness and understanding of the country among Malay-speaking audiences.
Datuk Husam Musa further stated that, upon learning that 2026 marks the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, he had decided to present the book to the Ambassador as a dedication to this important national occasion and as a tribute to the people and history of Tajikistan.
Ambassador Qodiri expressed his sincere appreciation for the thoughtful gesture and thanked Datuk Husam Musa for his interest in Tajikistan and for his efforts to promote greater understanding of the country’s history and cultural heritage among the Malaysian public. Both sides also exchanged views on the importance of preserving historical memory and strengthening cultural understanding between nations.
