On 5 May 2026, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Malaysia, HE Ardasher Qodiri, paid a working visit to the National Water Research Institute of Malaysia under the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (NAHRIM).

During the visit, the Ambassador was briefed on the Institute’s core activities and toured its laboratories and technical facilities, gaining first-hand insight into Malaysia’s applied research and innovation ecosystem in the water sector.

Subsequently, the Ambassador held a meeting with the Director General of NAHRIM, Dato’ Dr. Nasehir Khan bin E.M. Yahya, the Deputy Director General, Dr. Safari bin Hj. Mat Desa, and members of the Institute’s senior leadership.

The discussions focused on identifying practical avenues for bilateral cooperation, including the exchange of expertise between relevant institutions of Tajikistan and Malaysia, joint research engagement, and potential collaboration in technology transfer within the water management and hydrological research spheres.
