On May 15, 2023, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Ardasher Qodiri participated and made a statement at the opening ceremony of the 79th session of the Commission under the theme “Accelerating Climate Actions in the Asia and the Pacific Region for Sustainable Development “.
During his speech, the Permanent Representative stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Asian and Oceanic countries in water and climate issues and urged more inclusive support for Tajikistan’s initiatives.
It should be noted that the 79th session of the Commission have been attended by delegations of member countries at the level of heads of State/Government, deputy heads of Government, ministers and other high level representatives, and it will continue until 19 May 2023.
A number of different special side events are being held in the framework and on the margins of the Commission’s meeting.
