On 22 -23 April, in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand H.E. Mr. Ardasher Qodiri – Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to ESCAP participates in the 80th session of ESCAP. In the session Tajikistan’s Ambassador delivered his speeches regarding country statement under agenda item 2(a) general debate on the theme topic, “Leveraging digital innovation for sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific” and agenda item 3 Special Body on Least Developed, Landlocked Developing and Small Island Developing States.
In his speeches, Tajikistan’s representative briefed the participants about the initiatives of Tajikistan and implementation of national strategies which meet to the achieving SDG in national and international levels.
The main points were paid to the realizing the important national programs such as the Concept of the Digital Economy of Tajikistan, the Medium-Term Program for the Development of the Digital Economy in Tajikistan for 2021-2025 and Concept of e-Government Formation in the Republic of Tajikistan, the Laws “On Electronic Signatures” and “On Electronic Commerce” and the Water Action Decade, as well as the Water Action Agenda adopted as a result of the UN historic 2023 Water Conference for the promotion the timely implementation of water-related sustainable goals and targets in the LLDCs which was offered by Tajikistan.
In the conclusion Permanent Representative of Tajikistan invited the esteemed Group of LLDCs, ESCAP Members and Associate Members to take an active part in the Dushanbe Water Conference scheduled to be held on 10-13 June 2024, Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
