The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Malaysia participated in the Sabah International Expo 2023 (SIE2023), which took place in Kota Kinabalu from September 21st to September 24th, 2023. This significant event marked the most eastern and southern presence of Tajikistan on the planet, demonstrating the country’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships and promoting its rich heritage and resources.
SIE2023 garnered the participation of representatives from 27 diverse countries from around the world, making it truly an international event. Tajikistan was the sole representative from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), that participated as an exhibitor.
The international participants received accolades from the event’s organizers and the Government of the State of Sabah, Malaysia. Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Majnun, the State Minister of Finance of Sabah, personally extended commemorative gifts to foreign country representatives participating in the Expo, recognizing their valuable contributions to this international gathering. Furthermore, the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Noor, attended the Expo and visited every booth, including the Tajikistan booth, showcasing his keen interest in fostering international trade.
The Tajikistan booth at SIE2023 served as a perfect platform to introduce Tajik companies, their products, cultural heritage, and breathtaking landscapes to a diverse and influential audience. The Embassy was successful in attracting both local and foreign investors, fostering potential collaborations with Tajik companies. Moreover, the event generated a significant amount of interest among attendees who expressed their desire to visit Tajikistan and explore its unparalleled beauty and culture.
