Celebration of Tajik State anniversaries in Malaysia

On 18 November 2019, an official reception was organized on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the Independence Day, the 25th anniversary of the Constitution Day, the President Day and the State Flag Day of the Republic of Tajikistan which was held at the “JW Mariott” hotel in Kuala Lumpur with the participation of representatives of various ministries and agencies of Malaysia, the diplomatic corps accredited to Kuala Lumpur, media, business circles, figures of science and culture, as well as Tajik compatriots and students living in Malaysia.

In his speech Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan in Malaysia Ardasher Qodiri expressed about the progress and achievements during the years of independence and the role of the Founder of the peace and National unity-Leader of the nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E Emomali Rahmon, stressing the characteristics of stability in the country, the development of various industries achieving strategic goals and programmes, and also noted the status and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Malaysia.

At the event, the guest of honour, Deputy Minister of Human Resources of Malaysia H.E. Datuk Wira Haji Mahfuz bin Haji Omar, congratulated the President and people of the Republic of Tajikistan on behalf of the King  of Malaysia His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa and highlighted the current state of bilateral and multilateral relations, the prospects for political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

The event was also attended by Prince of Selangor H.H. Sulaiman bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Shah and the Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia H.E. Ambassador Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah.

At the celebration, the Tajik citizens who are currently living in Malaysia performed Tajik folk and Malay songs, as well as were showed the videos about the achievements of the country during the years of independence and tourist attractions of the country.

In accord with the announcement of the current and subsequent years “Years of rural development, tourism and folk crafts”, an exhibition was organized, which presented national costumes, folk crafts, pictures of historical places of Tajikistan, national dishes and tourism materials.
