On 4 March 2026 in New York, on the margins of the 57th session of the UN Statistical Commission, a signing ceremony was held for the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Malaysia on cooperation in statistics and the strengthening of the national statistical capacities of both countries.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr. Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, Director of the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin, Malaysia’s Chief Statistician.

Under this document, the parties agreed to enhance cooperation in the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices in the field of official statistics, as well as in information and communications technology, statistical methodology, and quality assurance.
