Presentation of Tajikistan’s Draft Resolution

On 5 March 2026, in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand, during the inaugural meeting of the Informal Working Group on the Review of Draft Resolutions, H.E. Mr. Ardasher Qodiri, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), presented a draft resolution entitled “Strengthening Cooperation on Transport Connectivity and Logistics for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific.”

During his presentation, the Ambassador of Tajikistan emphasized that the draft resolution is based on the recognition that sustainable and efficient transport systems are an essential prerequisite for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and deepening regional integration. At the same time, the level of transport and logistics connectivity across the region remains uneven, which calls for further expansion of cooperation.

Continuing his remarks, the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan stated that the document has an inclusive and unifying character and is aimed at supporting Member States in their national efforts to develop infrastructure, improve transit procedures, and enhance the efficiency of logistics systems. Particular attention is given to the needs of least developed and landlocked developing countries.

Member States were encouraged to engage constructively in shaping the above-mentioned draft document and to support its adoption, thereby reinforcing collective efforts toward sustainable development across the region.
