On February 18, 2025, in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand, during the inaugural meeting of the Informal Working Group on the Review of Draft Resolutions, the Permanent Mission of Tajikistan to UNESCAP, in collaboration with the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and Permanent Mission of Tajikistan to the United Nations, presented its draft resolution titled “Strengthening Cooperation on Climate Change and Water nexus for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific”.

During the presentation, Tajikistan’s Representative underscored the country’s leadership and influence in shaping the global agenda on water and climate issues. The proposed resolution aims to strengthen cooperation among UNESCAP member states and contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation). Member states were encouraged to support the resolution’s adoption, reinforcing collective efforts toward sustainable development in the region.
