On March 5, 2024, H.E. Ardasher Qodiri, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Malaysia, attended a high tea reception celebrating Malaysia’s re-election to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council Category C for the 2024-2025 term.
The event recognized the support and goodwill from Central Asian countries and highlighted Malaysia’s role and capabilities as an IMO Council member. It also served as a platform to inform Central Asian embassy representatives about Malaysia’s port facilities and their potential to support international cooperation.

During the event, Ambassador Qodiri had a productive meeting with Malaysia’s Minister of Transport, H.E. Mr. Loke Siew Fook, to explore opportunities for enhancing Tajikistan-Malaysia collaboration in logistics and transport.
