On October 3, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met in the city of Doha, State of Qatar, with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
The meeting discussed issues of expanding and strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and Thailand.
The President of our country, Emomali Rahmon, sincerely congratulated Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra on her election as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.
The Head of our state emphasized that Tajikistan and Thailand have fruitful relations and expressed hope that together we will give a new impetus to our relations.
The important topics of the conversation were issues of expanding cooperation between the two countries in promising sectors of trade and economy, investment, agriculture, transport and industry. Other areas of fruitful cooperation were named as the export of various goods and products, dried fruits, minerals to Thailand, as well as electronic equipment, machinery and devices to Tajikistan.
Much attention was paid to the development of a “Roadmap”, the organization of direct air flights, the introduction of a visa-free system for citizens and the development of tourist ties.
Other topics of conversation were cooperation in the field of education and holding cultural days.
The role of inter-parliamentary relations in strengthening bilateral relations between the countries was named as important.
At the end of the meeting, the President of our country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, invited Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra to visit Tajikistan on an official visit at her convenience.
